What's New in Version 3? ------------------------ * Built-in Paint Program Add simple text and graphics without leaving the Pasokon TV program. * 16 Million Colors Images are now stored with 16 million colors rather than 32768 as in the earlier versions. * Higher Resolution Images are now stored with 640 x 480 resolution rather than 320 x 240 as in earlier versions. * New Screen Layout If your display can handle it, you will want to use 800 x 600 screen resolution. This allows you to see a 640 x 480 image covering about 2/3 of the screen area instead of a little 320 x 240 image covering only 1/4 of the screen area. * More SSTV Modes Wraase 120 and 180 second. Scottie DX. NEW High Resolution modes with 480 scan lines instead of the usual 240 or 120. Use the "Hi Rez" mode button to pick P3, P5, or P7. * More File Types TIFF JPEG BMP PNG * On-line Help Read the (orange) version 2 manual and read the on-line help to find out what is different. * Expanded Color Printer Support Send pictures directly to the most popular types of printers including HP DeskJet, Epson Stylus, Canon Bubble Jet, and most 9 & 24 pin dot matrix printers. * 32 Bit Application Pasokon TV is now a 32-bit application. What this means is that we are now taking full advantage of the power of '386 (and later) processors rather than treating them as ancient 16-bit '286 machines. In 32-bit mode, the same programs are smaller and faster. We can now utilize all the machine's memory directly rather than worrying about the old 640 K "conventional" memory limit and going through contortions to access "extended" memory. This software will NOT run on a '286 machine. * General Changes Easier operation - Menu items for many items that formerly required editing of configuration file. The Menu Bar has been rearraged and expanded. The "Desk" menu has been renamed "Run" because it is used to run external programs. The "Make" menu has been renamed "Pattern". More image processing functions and improved 3D picture generation.
